One of the best thing of being in SEC

One of the best thing of being in S.E.C. is that I can work on my own ideas as I want. The first important project I worked on was a series of workshops about creative writing. It was a great experience and I taught me a lot. I love writing and I would love to make a living writing. I know it is not that simple, but whatever happens I will never stop to do it. Because of that, when they asked me what I wanted to do, I immediately thought of something about this topic.

Talking about creative writing is kind of tricky. Actually there are no rules to write in a proper way. Of course, there are some good habits to keep in mind, but as long as you can communicate something to your readers, you can write whatever you want. So holding workshops about this subject was a real challenge for me. Furthermore, I had never taught anything to anybody and I had to do it for the first time in my life speaking a language which is not my mother tongue. In spite of all these complications, eventually everything went well. Preparing the workshops was funny and stimulating, I improved my skills and, I think, people attending were happy about what they did.

Probably I could do something in a better way, but it is ok. It was just my first time. After all EVS is also about learning and for sure this experience was totally useful from this point of view. Now I am looking forward for my next challenge. Me and Monia are organizing Italian lessons. We are starting in April and you are all invited (don’t worry, there will be no marks and it’s totally free!). It will be another great adventure. I hope to be ready for that, but for sure the creative writing workshops experience will help me a lot. It is a fact: now I am a better teach than what I was three months ago!
