Last week I have been in Sarajevo

Last week I have been in Sarajevo for my on-arrival training as an EVS volunteer. It was great. I learned many useful things, I visited a beautiful city and I met a lot of wonderful people. It was very funny and helpful and I want to share this experience with you. Before my arrival I had many doubts about the whole thing. I love complaining and I thought I was going to have a lot of occasions to do that.

Well, I did not. Everything worked very well. Our accommodation was comfortable, the food was delicious and the training itself helped me to understand many aspects of my life as a volunteer. This time, if I complain, it means that there is something wrong with me. Well, actually I think there is something wrong with me for real, but maybe this is not the right occasion to talk about it… What can I say about Sarajevo? It was my first time there. At the beginning it did not catch me, but then, day by day, it won me over. Sarajevo is one of a kind. There is no other city in the world like it. Three different cultures are mixed together, shaping an enchanting and unique atmosphere. I can’t and I don’t want to describe it because I would trivialize its beauty. You must go there and live it. Not to mention the food. I ate almost one hundred ćevapi and I am still regretting I didn’t eat more. So, everything was great, but if I had to choose what was the best part of my trip, I would not have any doubts. My colleagues, the other volunteers I shared this experience with, have been what made everything special. I had a lot of fun with them, they have been a great company and I am looking forward to meet them again as soon as possible. After all, EVS is always about that: meeting people.
